Here it is, finally, the first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections. This is a film that many Matrix fans hoped to one day see, but I don’t know if anyone believed it would actually happen.
Here we are. Our heroes, Neo and Trinity, have returned after the events of The Matrix Revolutions, and we don’t know how, or why. At least not yet.
I have my own theories about how they could have returned, and why they look the same now as they did before. But I could be way off.
This is a theory I have had since they announced that Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss would be returning in a sequel. I have a feeling that when the Matrix needs to create additional people to help to power the system, the people they create are clones created from DNA held in a sort of codex. This would be similar to the Krypton Codex from Superman lore. If this is the case, it could lend more credibility to a theory I have long held that each of the previous versions of the One looked exactly the same as the One we all saw in the prior three films.

I think that makes sense. I am getting a caught between two sides vibe. Is Neo caught between those rebelling (despite the machine promise or a hard core that want the Matrix over despite the promise), and those wanting to stay and the forces making sure they can (Agents). Is he and Trinity fighting for the peace they won twenty years ago. And knowing the directors love of classic Japanese Cinema Akira Kurosawa’s ‘Yojimbo springs to mind. I think this is more Neo and Trinity trying to be together at last and neither side letting them.

Thanks for keeping this website alive Paul. I remember how I found this site back in 2003 when pouring over the internet looking for information about the upcoming sequels. I would still visit every few months even after they were released to as it’s a quality source. So happy there’s another chapter in the story for us fans to enjoy.
