Teen People asked MTV’s Iann Robinson, “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell and “Entertainment Tonight” personality Maria Menounos who the hot celebrities of 2003 will be, and their answers were not exactly forward-thinking. Avril Lavigne, Ludacris, Justin Timberlake, Vanessa Carlton and Michelle Branch were all named as music acts to watch, despite the fact they have already received plenty of hype in 2002. Vin Diesel, Brittany Murphy, Kirsten Dunst and Jake Gyllenhaal are listed for actors, with “The Matrix Reloaded” as the most-anticipated movie of 2003. All three “experts” claimed the “reality TV” trend is officially over, although Menounos says P. Diddy’s “Making the Band II” will be great “because it’s headed up by P. Diddy!” That doesn’t seem to help his own albums, but whatever.
