While Atari’s future plans for the Matrix license are still being kept out of view, they may become clearer sometime soon. Speaking in Atari’s quarterly conference call, founder Bruno Bonnell mentioned that an announcement regarding the publisher’s next two games based on the popular sci-fi film franchise should be coming shortly.
Addressing the recurring subject of the followup to Enter the Matrix, Bonnell reiterated that Atari holds license to produce two more titles based on the films, and said that “We hope we’ll be able to provide you with more details in the very short…in the coming weeks.”
In earlier conferences, Bonnell has said that the second of the two remaining Matrix titles will be targeted for next-generation consoles. We’ll look forward to learning more about its closer cousin…well, in the coming weeks.
