EPISODE 1 REDLINE

FADE IN ON:

EXT. VACENT CITY STREETS NIGHT.

We hear the revving of the engine; the shifting of the gears as the screen slowly fades in on the passenger’s side of the door. The camera zooms out, the car is revealed, a 3000GT VR-4 races forward at blazing speeds. We hear the tires start to squeal as the car drifts around a turn and start to accelerate again. The car makes a second drift that leads on to the interstate. The camera slowly pulls away revealing a city in the distance. The camera pans up showing a three quarter moon directly in the apex of the sky. The camera quickly turns around and pans downward revealing inner-city streets and diving down into them. A yellow MR-2 Spyder sits at a stop light one crosses in font of it, but otherwise the streets are vacant. The Red 3000GT drives into the picture pulling right up beside the Spyder and revs his engine as the window rolls down. Carnan, a man in his early thirties, pulls a fold of money out of his shirt pocket and flashes it toward the Spyder. The Spyder sits idle for a moment and revs it’s engine in return. Arbiter nods, rolls up the window, and then focuses his attention at the streetlight. The camera pulls back in-between the two cars and focuses on the street light. We see the glow of the yellow light, hearing the engines increase their tone, then green. The clutches drop and the GT speeds forward. The Spyder makes a right turn fishtailing around it and speeds down the street

ARBITER
What the…

The GT makes a 270º turn and speeds after the Spyder. The two cars race through the city streets, swerving through the minimal traffic, and cutting a few people off at the intersections. The Spyder leads the GT to a warehouse where we see numerous import cars and are greeted with thumping techno music. The Spyder parks after the last car, the GT follows her lead. A man known as Vincent (tall, dark facial hair, bald head) walks over to the cars.

VINCENT
Look what the cat dragged in.

Satin, a young woman, 25, steps out of the spyder.

VINCENT
Some ketchup to go with your mustard Satin?

SATIN
Better than that lemon you dragged in last week. At least I come color coordinated.

Arbiter steps out of his car. Vincent turns his attention toward him.

VINCENT
Hey, can you race?

ARBITER
I don’t know. Can you make lame-ass jokes?

Vincent smirks.

VINCENT
Very well, you know what a scavenger race is?

ARBITER
Yeah, you collect different tags around the city. The first one back wins.

VINCENT
Good. Names’ Vincent. How you doing? This is Satin

Arbiter nods to them both.

ARBITER
Arbiter

VINCENT
Welcome to The Redline Clan Arbiter. It five bills to play. The maps are over there.

Vincent motions over to an RX7 and its owner, Luc. There is currently an exchange going on with other drivers.

SATIN
Oh great, I almost forgot. Luc’s got map duty this week.

The three drivers start to walk over to the RX7

ARBITER
What’s up with this Luc guy?

VINCENT
That’s his RX7 over there; He’s one of the best of us.

SATIN
Last time he had map duty; He put a checkpoint right outside of the police station.

Arbiter give a sight smirk.

ARBITER
Sounds like my kinda racer.

Arbiter, Satin, and Vincent walk up to Luc just as Luc finishes business with some other drivers.

LUC
Welcome back friends. Ready for another action packed scavenge?

SATIN
You bet. I picked up a noob along the way. Luc, this is Arbiter.

LUC
Welcome to The Redline Clan Arbiter. We only have one rule. Don’t come back with a tale.

ARBITER
Sounds simple enough.

LUC
Got the five bills?

Arbiter takes the money from his shirt pocket and tosses it on the table. Satin and Vincent do the same. Luc takes the money, placing it in a bag and pulling out three maps, giving them the each respective driver.

LUC
Excellent, The race begins in about ten minutes from now. Enjoy.

Arbiter, Vincent, and Satin depart from Luc and begin to walk back to their cars.

VINCENT
Its study time, so if you’ll excuse me.

Vincent returns to his car, and begins to examine the map.

SATIN
I’ll see you out on the track.

ARBITER
Good luck.

SATIN
That’s something I never seem to run out of.

Arbiter and Satin return to their cars and begin to look over the map.

Arbiter takes a cell phone and an earpiece out of his pocket. Placing the earpiece over his ear, he holds down “4” on his cell phone.

PHASE (V.O.)
Operator.

ARBITER
What do you make of this map?

PHASE (V.O.)
I’d take Beta, then Omega, and Delta followed by Zulu and Alpha. It’s a round about way, but it keeps you off of the interstate.

ARBITER
I think I’m gona take Zulu and Alpha then Beta, Delta and Omega. I’ll be able to hit my NOS down I-918

PHASE (V.O.)
Are you crazy?

ARBITER
Other drivers will take the interstate. The agents will think nothing of it and traffic is light. Besides I have a feeling that our target will take this route.

PHASE (V.O.)
I’ve had a bad feeling about this target ever since day one. Too old too attached.

ARBITER
I don’t care what you say Phase. You haven’t see the ability like I have. I’ve never seen anybody have the ability to control a car like that. Normally the body is the only thing the mind can control. This one seems to have control over the car. Amazing things can be done with that mind, and I’m going to free it.

PHASE (V.O.)
More like capture it.

ARBITER
Watch your mouth Phase. Do you have the waypoints programmed into the computer yet?

PHASE (V.O.)
Yea.

ARBITER
Good, it looks like were about to start.

EPISODE 2 SCAVENGER

INT. WAREHOUSE NIGHT

We are shown a well lit warehouse with numerous import cars and greeted with thumping techno music. The camera switches to Arbiter’s 3000GT he is talking on his phone with Phase

ARBITER
Do you have the waypoints programmed into the computer yet?

PHASE (V.O.)
Yea.

ARBITER
Good, it looks like were about to start.

The camera pans to look though the windshield showing Luc in the center of the warehouse. The camera zooms in on Luc, transferring through the windshield.

LUC
Racers, lets get into position.

The cars start up and line up in front of the four doors on the northern side of the warehouse. There are eight cars in all, Arbiter lines up behind Satin’s MR-2 Spyder. Vincent in his silver Porsche 911 GT-2 is to his right. Luc walks over in-between the second and third door and grabs a control switch.

LUC
Are we ready?

The cars rev their engines as Luc pushes a button on the control and all four doors rise simultaneously. The cars scramble out in every which direction.

EXT. CITY STREETS

Satin bolts straight out the door and through a back alleyway. Vincent turns left as does Arbiter and a blue Supra. The three cars race down the street neck and neck. At the first intersection the Vincent turns right and speeds away.

PHASE (V.O.)
What happened to your target?

ARBITER
Shut your whole Phase. I’m on top of it.

At the next intersection the two cars turn right. Arbiter, having the inside turn gains a slight advantage. Coming up to the next intersection Vincent speeds across their path, barely missing Arbiter’s bumper, and forcing the Supra to slam on his brakes, compensating with a left turn and following Vincent. Further down the road Arbiter makes a left turn and shortly there after enters a gas station pulling up to the pump, quickly getting out and snagging a red tag from the pump.

WOMAN (V.O.)
Welcome to CityGas pump 1. Please pay before fueling.

Arbiter quickly gets back into his car and speeds away. You can see behind him Vincent and the Supra pulling up to the pumps as he leaves the station. Continuing to race through town, turning and swerving through light traffic. Then out of nowhere a blue Corvette bolts out of an alley causing Arbiter to hit his brakes. The corvette drifts right in front of his face and accelerates past him heading for the gas station.

PHASE (V.O.)
Make a left, down that alley.

Arbiter turns down the alley just as Vincent and the Supra speed behind him and continue down the street. Arbiter rips though the alleyway, almost clipping the wall around a turn. As he exits the alleyway there is a fast food joint, which he pulls into and screeches to a halt at the ordering speaker.

MAN (V.O.)
Welcome to.

Vincent pulls up behind Arbiter and revs his engine; the Supra is nowhere to be found.

ARBITER
I need a number 4.

MAN (V.O.)
First W.

Arbiter pulls around to the first window, waiting impatiently. The server opens the window and hand him a bag.

MAN
That will be.

Arbiter lights up his tires and pulls away, checking the bag and finding an orange ticket inside. Arbiter continues through the city drifting around a couple of turns then a green Camaro drifts out of a turn and almost broad sides him. The two race down the street. The Camaro bashes up against Arbiter and almost pushes him into an oncoming car. Arbiter quickly swerves around the car then rams back into the Camaro. The camaro swerves all the road and hits a light post head on. As the Camaro hits the light post the camera slows down and travels in a semi circle horizontal around the front of the Camaro. All of the windows explode of the car. The light post is knocked over and smashes into a tree, then tumbles down to the ground. The camera comes to a stop looking through the passenger’s side window where we see the driver laying up against the wheel coughing up blood. The camera returns to the 3000GT racing through the streets.

PHASE (V.O.)
Damn, I sure hope nobody was around to see that.

Back to the Camero, We see the driver, He starts to screen as he turns into an agent. The agent steps out of the car, dusts himself off, and puts his hand up to his earpeice.

We see the 3000GT again. Arbiters standing at a phone booth, ripping a green tag off of the side of the booth.

PHASE (V.O.)
That’s a good line Arbiter; I can take you out from there.

Arbiter, gets back in the 3000GT

ARBITER
I’m fine Phase, besides we’ve got company.

Vincent’s Porsche and two other cars are racing towards Arbiter. Arbiter pulls away making a His way to I-918. As Arbiter enters the interstate (deserted except for a car or two) he punches his nitro and races ahead. Just as his spray runs out, Satin flies off from a building top and lands right beside Arbiter, and hits her nitro, quickly pulling away from Arbiter getting a good ten second lead. As Arbiter passes an entrance ramp, there is a police car speeding up the ramp and pulls up right behind Arbiter. Just ahead we can see Satin exit the interstate. Arbiter follows her down to the city streets. The road is short and ends in a T-intersection. All that is straight ahead is a small alleyway, but it is too narrow for a car. As Satin approaches the wall, she quickly cuts her wheel to the left and pops her car up on two wheels squeezing through the alleyway.

PHASE (V.O.)
How the.?

ARBITER
Phase, a little help

PHASE (V.O.)
What exactly would you like for me to do?

ARBITER
Can’t you spawn an air canon under my right side?

PHASE (V.O)
You going too fast, I can get a fix on your position.

Arbiter slams on his brakes and cuts his wheel; skidding to a stop just before the wall. Sitting parallel to it.

PHASE
I got it.

The cop car T-bone’s the 3000GT just as the air cannon goes off, flipping the 3000GT one and a quarter times into the wall, coming to a rest on it’s side. The sunroof shattered leaving an all too convenient exit down the alleyway.

PHASE
Arbiter, I hope you can still stand. The cop’s dead, but you’ve got agents on their way.

Arbiter crawls out of the sunroof, limps down the alleyway, slowly increasing his speed. We can hear sirens in the distance.

ARBITER
I sure hope you’ve got something nice for me at the end of this ally.

As Arbiter approaches the end of the alley another 3000GT materializes a few inches above the ground, then drops, slightly bouncing as hit hits the ground. The drivers’ door is open and the engine running.

ARBITER
Phase, you’ve redeemed your self.

Arbiter hops in the car and speeds away. The camera motions up to a third floor apartment on the corner of the alley.

INT APPARTMENT.

In the room there is a man watching television (A car chase). The phone is ringing, he answers it and over hears the conversation with Phase and Arbiter.

PHASE (V.O.)
Have enough fun yet.

ARBITER (V.O.)
Get me the hell out of here.

The man notices the 3000GT out the window and immediately morphs into an agent. The agent looks out the window, and then holds his hand up to his earpiece. We then rejoin the action with the 3000GT.

EXT. CITY STREETS.

PHASE (V.O.)
The phone back at the delta checkpoint is as good as your gona get.

ARBITER
Good, lead the way.

INT. CONTROL ROOM (NOSTRADAMUS)

Phase punching away at keyboards and touching screens.

PHASE
Turn right here.

EXT. CITY STREETS

Arbiter drifts right around a turn and accelerates.

PHASE (V.O.)
You can punch your NOS for a while.

Just as Arbiter does, a black Lincoln comes out from an intersection and clips his back bumper, he spins out of control, slamming into a wall. The Lincoln slams through a mailbox and into a show room window.

PHASE (V.O.)
No! (But it’s too late)

Arbiter lies in his car nearly unconscious. An agent gets out of the Lincoln and dusts him self off and begins walking toward Arbiter. A black Civic EX races up next to the wrecked 3000GT pulling a 180 and stopping parallel to it. The driver immediately starts shooting at the agent through his window. The passengers’ side door opens a man steps out and opens the drivers’ side door of the 3000GT.

ARBITER
Where the fuck have you been?

CARNAN
Get in.

Carnan pulls Arbiter out of his car and puts him in the back seat. The driver out of ammo tosses his gun aside. Carnan pulls out two Uzi’s from his coat and fires them at the agent as he gets in the Civic. The Civic pulls away as the Lincoln backs out of the window and chases after them. Leaving the first agent behind.

TACHYON (Driver)
You okay Arbiter?

ARBITER
I’ve been worse.

CARNAN
Shit, I’d hate to see that.

The Civic races through the city streets, with the Lincoln gaining ground with every turn. There are two agents in the Lincoln, one of them is firing his gun at the Civic. In the road a head of them you see the blue Supra coming at them. Tachyon switches lanes, driving right at the Supra. We see the driver in the Supra just before he changes into an agent. The Lincoln is right behind the Civic, and slightly pushing at its bumper. At the last moment, Tachyon swerves out of the way; the Supra and Lincoln hit head on. Carnan leans out of the window and starts firing both Uzi’s at the Supra. An agent flies out of the Lincoln windshield and hits the Supra. The gas tank of the Supra ignites flipping the Supra on to the Lincoln. Carnan gets back in the car.

CARNAN
Chicken.

Tachyon grins and keeps on driving. The Civic makes one final turn and stops at the phone booth. We hear the phone ringing. All three men step out of the car. Arbiter answers the phone first and dematerializes. The camera starts to pull away as Tachyon hangs up the phone. The camera pans up at the moon as we hear the sounds of Carnan and Tachyon dematerialize. The camera zooms in on the moon until the screen is completely white.

EPISODE 3 SWEET DREAMS

The screen is completely white we start to hear a pulsating hum grow louder and louder. The camera pulls away revealing a hover disc, and eventually The Nostradamus is fully revealed flying through the sewers. The camera pans around the ship then zooms in on the bridge transferring through the windshield and we are shown a female pilot. Voices are herd and the camera fades to a hallway inside of The Nostradamus showing Arbiter and Carnan talking to each other.

INT. NOSTRADAMUS HALLWAY

ARBITER
Thanks for saving my ass back there.

CARNAN
I do what I can. What’s so special about this woman anyways? She’s too old; you’re going to get burned.

ARBITER
Perhaps, but did you see what she did with her car? It defied the laws of the Matrix.

Carnan lets out a slight laugh

CARNAN
Don’t tell me you think this is the one that Somnus is after.

ARBITER
She may be.

CARNAN
Man, Somnus is crazy. I can’t believe your even considering the so-called ‘prophecy’.

ARBITER
It doesn’t matter if I believe in it or not. She has incredible abilities that can be used for the resistance.

CARNAN
Perhaps, but I’ve got a bad feeling about this. Shit’s gona hit the fan.

ARBITER
Perhaps — I’ve got support for Talon today. I must be off.

CARNAN
See you around

Arbiter and Carnan walk different ways. The camera switches to the main deck. Phase is at work on the terminal. A young woman late twenties is looking over his shoulder. Arbiter walks into the room.

INT. NOSTRADAMUS MAIN DECK

ARBITER
We ready to go?

PHASE
Almost.

ARBITER
Good. — Time for another action packed day at City High?

TALON
Didn’t you have enough action last night? You know you should be careful what you wish for. It just may come true.

ARBITER
How’s Signat coming along?

TALON
He’s coming along; should be ready to take the plunge in about a week.

ARBITER
Good.

PHASE
Ok, everything is ready.

ARBITER
Let’s go.

Arbiter, Talon, and Phase start to walk over to the chairs as the screen fades to a classic ’71 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R parked on the street across form City High School. Arbiter is sitting in the drivers’ seat reading a magazine. The camera pans up to the school building and fades to an office door. ‘Ms Suadela, Teenage Counseling’ is imprinted on the window. A teenage man walks up to the door and knocks.

INT. CITY HIGH SCHOOL

MS SUADELA
Come in.

The teenager opens the door and walks in. Talon dressed in business attire is sitting behind an office desk.

TEENAGER
Hello Ms. Suadela.

TALON (MS SUADELA)
Hello Chase. Have a seat.

Chase closes the door and sits down in a chair in front of Ms Suadela’s desk.

INT. MS SUADELA’S OFFICE

TALON (MS SUADELA)
You wanted to talk to me about your dreams?

CHASE
Yeah, every night I have the same dream. I’m sitting in on a wooden chair. I have an earpiece on my left ear and some of those sensors that hospital patents ware on my arms and chest. There’s various electronic equipment in the room and a whole bunch of people too. I don’t recognize any of them, except one.

TALON (MS SUADELA)
Who do you recognize?

CHASE
You.

TALON (MS SUADELA)
Interesting, what happens next?

CHASE
The floor starts to turn into quicksand, and I start to sink. Just before my head goes under I wake up.

The camera switches back to Arbiter in the Skyline. The passengers’ side door opens and Satin gets in

EXT. CITY HIGH SCHOOL STREET

SATIN
Scouting the schools for young talent?
Before Arbiter realizes who it is he pulls out his gun and aims it right at her head.

SATIN
Whoa, easy there tiger, it was only a joke.

ARBITER
Shit. Satin, What the hell are you doing here.

SATIN
I saw you sitting in your car. I was wondering what happened to you last night. You never made it back to the warehouse. Now put away that thing.
Arbiter shaking his head.

ARBITER
I’m sorry; I can’t do that.

SATIN
Why not?

ARBITER
I don’t want to have to kill you.

SATIN
Well that’s why you need to put away that gun.

ARBITER
I wish I could explain.
Arbiter gets out an earpiece and puts it on.
PHASE (V.O.)
Operator.

ARBITER
Yeah, we have a problem.
Camera switches to Phase at his controls. He types and touches a few screens.

INT. NOSTRADAMUS
PHASE
I’d say so. Sorry, I was overlooking Talon and Signat’s conversation.

ARBITER(V.O.)
How’s that going?
Camera switches to the Skyline

EXT. CITY STREETS
PHASE(V.O.)
Too good, were going to have to take him out soon.

ARBITER
Great. Is she bugged?
Camera back to the Nostradamus control room. Phase back at work

INT. NOSTRADAMUS
PHASE
Oh yeah, one belly buster.

ARBITER(V.O.)
Damn It. Were going to need an extraction team in here.

PHASE
They’re on their way. Room 202, Oceanview Apartments?

ARBITER(V.O.)
Sounds good. Get Talon out of work.
Camera switches to Ms. Suadela and Chase in her office.

INT. MS SUADELA’S OFFICE
TALON (MS SUADELA)
You’re viewing the world differently than most people. There’s nothing wrong with this. Most people won’t understand what you’re going though. If you let me. I can help you.
The Phone rings.
TALON (MS SUADELA)
Hello, this is Ms. Suadela (pause) I see, I’ll be right there.
Talon hangs up the phone
TALON (MS SUADELA)
I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to cut our meeting short. Family emergency.

CHASE (SIGNAT)
I understand.
Both Ms Suadela and Chase stand up and exit the room. The camera then switches to the Skyline. Talon walks up to the passengers’ side door, and opens it.

EXT CITY HIGH SCHOOL STREET

TALON (MS SUADELA)
Get in the back
Talon pulls out a gun from her purse and aims it at Satin, trying to conceal it as much as possible, as Satin gets from the front seat to the back. Talon enters the car, still aiming the gun at Satin, kneeling on the passengers’ seat and closing the door. Arbiter puts his gun away and drives off.

INT. SKYLINE 2000 GT-R

SATIN
What’s going on here? Why am I being kidnapped?

Talon laughs slightly.

TALON
Kidnapped? Were setting you free.

ARBITER
How did you turn your car up on two wheels last night?

SATIN
I have a modified stabilizer. It’s overweighed and on manual control.

ARBITER
What?!?

SATIN
An overweighed stabilizer.

TALON
Damn it Arbiter, We’re wasting our time.

SATIN
Geeze, I didn’t think you’d be desperate enough to hold a gun to my head in order to win.

EXT. OCEANVIEW APARTMENTS

The car pulls into an abandoned hotel that is in front of an ocean. Arbiter, Talon, and Satin get out of the car. Talon still aiming the gun in Satin’s face. Carnan and Tachyon are sitting in chairs on a second floor balcony on the second floor; both have their feet propped up on the railing.

INT. OCEANVIEW APARTMENTS ROOM 202

CARNAN
Getting too hot for you yet Arbiter?

Arbiter pulls out his gun and waves it at Carnan.

ARBITER
You’re lucky we have a battery with us.

Arbiter enters the hotel with Talon and Satin. Once inside they travel up a flight of stairs, then walk down the hallway to room 202. Arbiter opens the door and steps in. We see Carnan and Tachyon get up from their seats out on the balcony and walk into the room. There is a pigeon in a cage in the center of the room.

CARNAN
The infamous Satin has arrived.
Talon leads Satin over to an Italian leather sofa.

TALON
Lie down on the couch.

Satin does. Aquanis a young woman late in her teenage years (18,19) walks though a doorway from another part of the apartment. She is carrying a rather large mechanical device on her shoulder. It has a glass bowl on one end and a glass tube on the other with an output screen and some kind of triggering device.

ARBITER
Hello Aquanis.

AQUANIS
Does somebody have a tummy ache?

Satin looks startled and confused.

ARBITER
Have any dreams about the Men in Black recently, Satin?

SATIN
How do you know that?

AQUANIS
Alright, lift up your shirt and good ole’ Doc. Aquanis will take care of it.

Satin is in disbelief but does as she is told. Aquanis takes the mechanical device from her shoulder and places the bowl end of it over Satin’s belly button. Three claws quickly retract down around the bowl and Aquanis adjusts the targeting lever.

AQUANIS
Now what are you running away for?

Satin has a frightened look on her face as Aquanis continues to work.

AQUANIS
Ah, ha gotcha.

Aquanis pulls the trigger of the device that the three claws exert an electrical shock onto Satin. Satin jerks back in pain as a metallic bug device comes out of stomach and up through the device, and into the glass tube. Aquanis ejects the glass tube and lays the device next to the couch.

AQUANIS
It’s so cute. Can we keep it Arbie?

Arbiter rolls his eyes.
ARBITER
I think Zion needs to increase the age on the guard.

Aquanis playfully pouts.

AQUANIS
Awe, you’re no fun.

Aquanis smiles and hands the tube to Arbiter. Arbiter hands the glass tube to Tachyon who takes out a flare gun from his coat and loads the tube into the gun. Tachyon walks over the balcony and fires the tube out over the ocean.

ARBITER
Aquanis, do you have the pills?

AQUANIS
You bet.

Aquanis takes out a silver case and hands it to Arbiter.

SATIN
Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on now?

ARBITER
You are dreaming Satin, it’s time to wake up. You now have two choices. You can either wake up from this dream, and soon forget everything that has happened today, or you can come with me and I can show you what dreaming is all about.

Arbiter hands the silver case to Satin.

ARBITER
The blue pill takes you home; the red pill sets you free.

Arbiter hands the silver case to Satin. He grabs a glass of water from an end table and takes it over to Satin. Satin opens the case and looks at both pills for a while. She takes out the blue pill, and closes the case, then puts the blue pill in her mouth. Arbiter hands her the water.

ARBITER
Sweet dreams Satin.

Satin’s takes a drink of water and swallows the pill, her eyes begin to close and she passes out on the couch. Arbiter lets out a slight sigh. Arbiter’s phone rings, He reaches into his pocket and pushes a button.

PHASE (V.O.)
Arbiter, We have a slight problem.

ARBITER
What now?

PHASE (V.O.)
Satin doesn’t have a hardline into her apartment.

ARBITER
Wonderful.

Arbiter turns off his phone.

CRAHAN
What’s the good word?

ARBITER
No Hardline.

Carnan chuckles

CARNAN
Wonderful.

ARBITER
Tachyon, Carnan, take her home. Talon, you have anything important left to do at City High?

TALON
Nothing that is important for us.

ARBITER
Ok. Aquanis, Talon, lets get out of here.

Arbiter, Talon, and Aquanis leave the room where there is a phone ringing. Carnan and Tachyon walk over to Satin.

CARNAN
Who wants to carry her?

TACHYON
Rock, Paper, Scissors?

We can hear the sounds of Arbiter, Talon, and Aquanis dematerializing. Carnan nods, they play one round. He looses, sighs, and then dreadfully picks up Satin, Both Carnan and Tachyon walk over to the balcony.
