‘The Matrix’ Back in Select Theaters

matrix_ver1_xlgAs a part of their Classic Series, Cinemark Theaters will be re-releasing “The Matrix” for two days. There will be one showing at 2pm on October 20th, and two showings at 2pm and 7pm on October 23th. The Classic Series has traditionally featured older titles than “The Matrix” and the films are usually digitally restored for the showing. Given how well “The Matrix” has been handled on DVD and Blu-ray I would assume this is the same print we’ve seen for a while now.

The list of theaters is pretty extensive but I’m still having trouble finding one anywhere near me so good luck to you all. If anyone does get to go we’d love to hear how it went in the comments.

  1. I did a search on Fandango and in my area all three screenings are taking place not only at the Cinemark theater listed in the release but also at a local Regal theater. It appears that this Classic Series is screening at Regal theaters as well. Link (http://www.regmovies.com/Promotions/Classic-Film-Series)

Thank you very much for the heads up. I was unable to see this during the theatrical release and have always wanted to see it on the silver screen.

  2. When The Matrix first came out in theaters in 1999, I was 13. Unfortunately, I was at the mercy of what movies my Mom would and wouldn’t drive me to. Needless to say, I’ve been DYING to see this in theaters ever since! I first saw The Matrix on VHS and was completely blown away…but nothing compared to seeing it in theaters. The effects and the fight scenes are phenomenal and are meant to be seen on the Big Screen! It’s just one of my favorite Sci-Fi films of all time…and also, late 90’s Keanu Reeves doesn’t hurt either 😉
